Overview
The College of Science and Engineering integrates the fields of science and engineering, disciplines that are becoming ever more profound and interrelated. Students are no longer limited by the traditional academic boundaries between the Faculty of Science, which dealt with basic science, and the Faculty of Engineering, which dealt with its application, and they can select their course from an extensive array of natural science and technology options.
When you enter the College of Science and Engineering, after mastering the rudiments of science and engineering, you can select specialized courses offered by the college’s six departments, and thus are able to design the path through university that is the most suited to you as an individual. The reorganization of faculties and departments into the College enables us to offer the best possible education for students who will go on to play an active role in society. We also offer sub-majors, which make it possible to gain an understanding of other fields outside your specialization.
Set your sights on becoming a specialist in science and technology at the College of Science and Engineering. Graduate studies are available in each field for those who wish to continue with further academic research after graduation. For those who intend to go into employment, it is possible to acquire a teaching certificate (for junior high school and high school), an Associate Professional Engineer certificate (JABEE accreditation) or the qualifications required for such jobs as safety supervisor; you can master the knowledge and skills necessary for the real world and can freely chart your own way through a wide-ranging field of study.
