Overview
The College of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences consists of four schools: the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the School of Health Sciences. The School of Health Sciences is subdivided into five specialty departments: the Nursing Department, the Radiological Technology Department, the Examination Technology Department, the Physical Therapy Department, and the Occupational Therapy Department.
The objective of this college is to train students to become capable medical staff and to contribute to the progress of patient-oriented holistic medicine. We do this with a high regard for patients’ quality of life, and through mutual collaboration between the different fields of medical education that have conventionally operated separately.
The curriculums are intended to raise students’ awareness of their responsibilities as medical personnel through the study of the college’s common subjects as well as through the early exposure program that provides students with opportunities to experience actual medical settings. In addition, students are trained to become medical/pharmaceutical/health professionals with a high degree of expertise, up-to-date knowledge and skills, as well as strong humanitarian qualities and high ethical standards through the specialized courses of each school.
At this college we conduct unique and innovative basic and clinical research into the prevention and treatment of diseases, as well as into health promotion. Another mission of the college is the training of researchers who will be leaders in the field of advanced medicine in the 21st Century. We seek to achieve this aim through graduate and postgraduate research.
