From August 17 to 25, 11 students and two accompanying faculty from Kanazawa University participated in a nine-day study program at the University at Buffalo (UB), one of Kanazawa University's partner institutions. The program was conducted as part of the “Inter-University Exchange Project” titled “Multi-Layered Educational Programs between Japan and the U.S. for Revolutionary New Global Human Resources.”(*)

The program combined two educational tracks, Urban Planning and Medical Clinical COIL. In addition to attending lectures and participating in activities related to urban planning, medicine, and other fields, the students engaged in exchanges with local students and took part in excursions. Furthermore, as UB is located in Buffalo, New York, a sister city of Kanazawa City, the participating students visited Buffalo City Hall on August 24 and paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Sean Ryan. During the visit, they presented a letter from Kanazawa Mayor Takashi Murayama. The students also toured the Buffalo Japanese Garden, where they learned about the longstanding friendship and exchanges between the two sister cities. Kanazawa University remains committed to strengthening reciprocal international exchange and learning opportunities for students.
