Announcement regarding the implementation of face-to-face classes after the third quarter of 2020

To students,

At Kanazawa University, in order to prevent infection with the new coronavirus and secure learning opportunities, we provide a face-to-face "learning place" for all students while reducing the risk of infection and its spread at the university as much as possible. We believe that it is the responsibility of the university.

In the first and second quarters from April, we have made improvements while conducting almost all classes remotely and have taken advantage of them, but at the same time, we have reaffirmed the educational limitations of the method.

Kanazawa University has a large number of infectious disease specialists and doctors. After thorough consideration with these experts, we decided to conduct face-to-face lessons in principle after thorough basic infectious disease countermeasures from the third quarter onward. For details, please check the university website or Acanthus Portal.

As a higher education institution, universities are required to be "a place where new value is created by gathering diverse human resources with diverse values." Gathering at the "learning place" of the campus and having the experience of connecting with and co-creating with others through face-to-face lessons, extracurricular activities, and interaction with students and faculty members is indispensable for all students to grow as human beings.

To prevent infectious diseases, it is important to take basic measures such as thorough hand washing and disinfection, wearing a mask, and ensuring physical distance. Each student should always be aware and act responsibly to attend classes.

For students with underlying illness and students with anxiety, we will continue to consider providing remote classes, so please consult with your affiliated student affairs section.(Here for consultation counters on each campus)
