On July 1, H.E. Mr. Martin Tomčo, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Japan, and another delegate from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo, paid a courtesy visit to President Koetsu Yamazaki. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of exchange between the Czech Republic and Japan. The visit on this occasion was arranged because Kanazawa University has been fostering close relationships with institutions in the Czech Republic in the field of Space Science and Engineering. At the meeting, Prof. Satoshi Yagitani, Director of Advanced Research Center for Space Science and Technology, Institute of Science and Engineering, and Prof. Yoshiya Kasahara, Director of Information Media Center, introduced their efforts with research institutes in the Czech Republic. There were discussions about the possibility of further collaboration between institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic, and KU.
