On August 28, President WADA Takashi, Vice President HASEBE Noriko, and other representatives of Kanazawa University (KU) visited Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) in Indonesia to attend the opening ceremony of the UNHAS–KU Global Collaboration Hub.

The ceremony was attended by Rector Jamaluddin Jompa of UNHAS and representatives of both universities. During the ceremony, representatives of the two universities signed an agreement on the establishment of the Hub.

KU and UNHAS have built a strong partnership over more than a decade through student and staff exchanges, joint research, and other educational and research activities. Since 2025, the two universities have also jointly organized the “UNHAS–KU Summer Program” for their students.

The newly established UNHAS–KU Global Collaboration Hub will serve as a new base for further developing educational and research collaboration between the two universities, building on their longstanding partnership.

KU will use the Hub to further promote student and staff exchanges and joint research with UNHAS, while expanding its educational and research networks in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia.
