Kanazawa University Alumni Executives Association “Acanthus Club” Held for the First Time

On July 18, Kanazawa University held the first meeting of the Alumni Executives Association “Acanthus Club”, a gathering for alumni involved in the management of companies and organizations. A total of 54 participants attended.

At the venue, the MIRAICHI Research Center, Kanazawa University, two flower arrangement works created by Mr. Reiwa Ueda (graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy), a master of ikebana, were displayed, creating a vibrant and elegant atmosphere as the event began.

First, president Takashi Wada delivered a presentation introducing current initiatives at Kanazawa University. Following this, Mr. Masaki Yamauchi, Executive Advisor at Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. (graduate of the Faculty of Letters), gave a special lecture titled “The History of Takkyubin — A Battle Against Taboos”.

In the latter half of the event, a networking session was held, where lively conversations blossomed among participants who shared the common background of being Kanazawa University alumni. Active exchanges took place across different departments and graduation years, and the event concluded on a highly positive note.

Looking ahead, “Acanthus Club in Tokyo” is scheduled to be held on October 10.
