On July 3, an exchange event with students from the PII (Princeton in Ishikawa) program was held. A total of 23 students from the PII program and 22 students from Kanazawa University participated in the event.
Following welcoming remarks by Prof. Noriko HASEBE, Vice President, a student representative from Kanazawa University introduced the university in Japanese. This was followed by a greeting and a introduction to student life in the U.S. by a representative of the PII students, who addressed the audience in Japanese.
The participants then divided into small groups and discussed a variety of topics, including university life, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, food, anime, and manga, communicating entirely in Japanese throughout the session. They also experienced Japanese culture by writing their wishes on tanzaku (wish strips) for Tanabata. Throughout the event, participants enjoyed lively conversations and deepened friendships in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
※ Princeton in Ishikawa, Inc. (PII) is a U.S.-based non-profit educational organization. The PII Summer Program is for students from Princeton University, Yale University, Chicago University, etc. to study Japanese language and culture while staying with host families in Ishikawa Prefecture for two months.
