On May 27 and 28, Kanazawa University welcomed João Gonçalo MAGALHÃES SALES, Ana Filipa ALVES FARIA, and Ana Sofia MARQUES ALVES from the University of Minho in Portugal, one of our international partner institutions, for a two-day staff training program.

This training was conducted as part of Erasmus+, the European Union’s funding program for education, training, youth, and sport, which aims to enhance quality and international cooperation in these fields during the 2021–2027 program period.

On the first day of the program, participants attended presentations by the International Relations Department and the Strategic Planning Office. They also toured the University Museum under the guidance of Assistant Professor Atsushi MATSUNAGA, gaining a deeper understanding of the University's internationalization initiatives, the current landscape surrounding higher education in Japan, and the history of Kanazawa University. On the second day, the participants visited the Biomass Green Innovation Center (BGIC) and the MIRAICHI Research Center. They were then divided into two groups according to their professional responsibilities and held separate discussion sessions with staff members from the Public Relations Strategy Office and the Educational and Student Affairs Department.

Participants commented that the program provided a valuable opportunity to interact directly with staff from both universities and gain a deeper understanding of each institution’s initiatives and challenges.
