On June 8, at the 53rd Chubu Medical, Dental, and Pharmaceutical Kendo Tournament held on the Kanazawa University Kakuma Campus, the Kanazawa University Medical School Kendo Club (*) delivered outstanding performances, including winning both the team and individual competitions.
In the team competition, Kanazawa University fielded three teams—A, B, and C—for both the men’s and women’s divisions. In the men’s team competition, Team A won the championship, marking the first team victory in two years. In the women’s team competition, Team A finished as runner-up, and Team C placed third, continuing their strong performance from last year.
In the individual competition, Kokone Imaizumi (4th-year student, School of Medicine) won first place, and Mao Nakagoshi (5th-year student, School of Medicine) placed second. Additionally, in the women’s rookie individual competition for players ranked 1st dan and below, Yu Kawasaki (2nd-year student, School of Health Sciences) won first place.
