The Health Service Center holds the food‑education program “Tasty and Easy Vegetable‑Rich Breakfast Soup Tasting Event” every quarter as part of its student support initiatives. The program aims to prevent students from skipping breakfast and to help them maintain a balanced diet for a healthy university life. At each tasting event, a simple yet hearty soup and its recipe are provided.

This time, the event was held on May 21 at the General Education Lecture Hall and on May 22 at the Natural Science and Technology Main Hall. Under the guidance of a registered dietitian, student volunteers prepared and served “Hearty Miso Soup with Bamboo Shoots and Chicken Meatballs” and “Komatsuna and Bacon Cream Soup,” both featuring seasonal bamboo shoots and komatsuna.

In the post‑event questionnaire, participants shared comments such as: “I was impressed by how tender the chicken meatballs were in the miso soup. According to the recipe, it looks like something I can make myself, so I plan to cook a larger batch at home and freeze it.” “The cream soup was delicious, with the crisp texture of komatsuna and a light, comforting flavor. I will definitely make it at home.” “I liked that seasonal vegetables were used—it felt nutritious and seasonal.” “I enjoyed the variety of ingredients, including vegetables I don’t usually eat when living alone.”

The event will continue from the second quarter onward, so we hope you will join us next time.
