The Career Support Office held the FY2026 Kanazawa University “Summer Internship Fair” online on April 25 and in person on May 9 and 10. This year, the fair was expanded in scale, with 354 companies and organizations participating across all days. Many students attended, mainly second‑ and third‑year undergraduate students, first‑year master’s students, and second‑year doctoral students.

Participating students listened attentively to explanations about internships and work‑experience programs offered this summer. The event received positive feedback, including comments such as: “It was a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from company HR staff and learn specific details about job roles and internship programs.” “My awareness of job‑hunting increased, and I realized what I need to prepare before the summer internships.” “I learned about companies where I can apply my field of study, and my future career options have broadened.” The venue was lively, with four kitchen‑car food trucks operating each day.

Younger students also participated in noticeable numbers, sharing comments such as: “Hearing about the rewarding aspects of work from company employees made me feel that working seems enjoyable.” “It gave me an opportunity to start thinking about my future career path.” “My motivation toward future job‑hunting increased.”

Participation in internships and work‑experience programs is becoming increasingly important each year as a key step for students to broaden their perspectives and begin job‑hunting with sufficient information. This year’s fair achieved record‑high participation from both companies and students, making it more substantial than ever.

The Career Support Office will continue to hold various information sessions and guidance programs to support students’ career development and employment activities.
