On May 16, at the Spring In-person Campus Visit, School of Regional Development Studies, College of Human and Social Sciences introduced its program, held a mock lecture, provided admissions guidance, and presented student life. Following these sessions, students of the School of Regional Development Studies unveiled a capsule toy featuring recommended spots at Kanazawa University. Participating high school students enjoyed the capsule toy using coins that were distributed to them and took the capsules home as souvenirs.

Each capsule contains one sticker, one keyholder, and an information sheet. The stickers feature photographs capturing everyday moments on campus (four variations in total), while the information sheet includes related anecdotes. These items were created with the aim of helping participating high school students form a positive and enjoyable image of university life after enrollment, thereby motivating them in their entrance exam studies. The keyholders are made using auspicious cherry blossom branches found on the Kakuma Campus—specifically, naturally fallen branches that had not touched the ground.

For the students in charge of making the capsule toys, the project offered an opportunity to reflect on the enjoyment of their own student life. In addition, the process of making the keyholders—using electric tools and sealers—provided a valuable hands-on experience through which they could discover the enjoyment of crafting and making things.
