On March 4, the Kanazawa University Strategic Project for Development of Doctoral Students and Research Promotion (HaKaSe⁺) and the Career Support Office hosted a “Nature Masterclasses Expert Trainer-led Workshop” to improve students’ academic skills.

This workshop invited Dr. Maybelline Yeo, a dedicated trainer from Springer Nature, one of the world’s leading publishers in research, education, and professional fields, to deliver the entire program in English. This year’s workshop consisted of five sessions held from morning to evening under the theme “Communicating Research to the Non-specialized Public,” and 45 students participated.

The participating students learned essential skills for scientific communication between researchers and the general public. Dr. Yeo provided explanations and guidance on topics such as the importance of science communication, effective communication strategies, crafting narratives that give meaning to science, platforms for communicating science, and sharing research using generative AI.
