For four days from January 12 to 15, Professor Jean-Marc Lairaudat and 16 students from the University of Orléans in France visited our campus, and they mainly engaged in international exchange with our university’ students, including class participation, Kanazawa-specific cultural experiences such as gold-leaf crafting experience and traditional Japanese sweets making, and also took part in research exchanges among faculty members.

This program is one of our university’s new initiatives aimed at realizing to create a “campus where internationalization is a part of everyday life”, and is a short-term study abroad project that will continue on a reciprocal basis. This time, we also conducted a trial program to recruit “Welcome Supporters for International Students” from our university students to assist with international student events throughout the year. They helped organize and participate in activities such as campus tours, cafeteria experiences, and exchange gatherings. Students from both universities were seen interacting in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and we look forward to active multicultural collaborative learning in the future.
