Exchange Project through Music "Creating Together! Music Festival" at Ishikawa Special Needs School

On December 11, students from Kanazawa University visited Ishikawa Prefectural Ishikawa Special Needs School to hold a music exchange event with 44 students from the middle school. Music Festival in Ishikawa Special Needs School.

Kanazawa University The nine participants from College of Human and Social Sciences School of Teacher Education, one second-year student, one third-year student, and three fourth-year students from the music subject group, as well as two first-year students from Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies Division of Regional Development Studies and two teachers from College of Human and Social Sciences Faculty of Education, were from Noto. This subject group has been conducting music exchange activities as educational support in Noto since 2024, but this is the first time for them to work outside of Noto.

The program included performances on trumpets, cajons, glockenspiels, toy pianos, and other instruments rarely seen, as well as a quiz to guess the names of the songs. In addition, students were able to try their hand at playing the Do Re Mi Pipe. The university students and the students worked together to perform "Frog Chorus. In the chorus, we tried singing a sign language song called "Niji" (rainbow). The teachers from Ishikawa Special Needs School commented that "students who usually don't laugh laughed" and "everyone looked so good.
