On October 30, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative organized a tour of the Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute Inc. as part of Project: AERU, and 11 Kanazawa University students participated in the tour.

The Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute Inc. was established in November 2017 in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, to pass on the brewing techniques and philosophy of Naohiko Noguchi, renowned as Japan's top sake brewer, to the next generation. Last year, in collaboration with the institute, Kanazawa University developed the "Kanazawa University Original Sake," which was launched in June of this year.

During the tour, Takashi Iwai, a director of the institute, provided an explanation about the history of Naohiko Noguchi, tracing his journey as a sake brewer, as well as the background of the institute's establishment and the sake brewing process. Following this, the participants heard from Naohiko Noguchi about his passion for sake brewing and his philosophy of life. The students were deeply impressed by his passion.

Feedback from the participating students included comments such as, "I was deeply moved by the words, 'The secret to a long life is to have dreams and goals,'" and "I was reminded once again of the importance of approaching things in a logical and systematic way."
