On November 2 , “The 14th Kanazawa University International Student Homecoming Day” was held in the Kakuma Campus , with approximately 50 participants including international alumni, current international students, and faculty/staff.

The event began with welcoming remarks by President Wada. Following the Kanazawa University Homecoming Day the previous day, Dr. Aurelijus Zykas, Ambassador of Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Japan, gave a Special Speech. Ambassador Zykas, who studied at our university for one year from 1998 as a MEXT Scholarship Student (Nikken-sei), shared stories about his adolescence spent amid shifting international circumstances, his studies at Kanazawa University, and his subsequent career. He conveyed the message: “My present self exists because I have always tackled the challenges before me with all my strength.” Following the lecture, active questions were raised by alumni and current students.

The venue then shifted to a relaxed luncheon exchange, featuring self-introductions by four alumni. Video messages from overseas alumni association presidents were screened, while alumni and current students enjoyed meals together, actively engaging with smiles. This gathering, where alumni and current international students came together to reaffirm their bond with KU, became a memorable moment, instilling pride in their hearts both as students and as graduates.
