From August 17 to 25, 2025, twelve students and one faculty from Kanazawa University took part in a training program at our partner institution, the University at Buffalo (UB), State University of New York. This program was implemented as part of the Inter-University Exchange Project: Multi-Layered Educational Programs between Japan and the U.S. for Revolutionary New Global Human Resources.
The program combined three fields—Urban Planning, International Cooperation, and Clinical Medical Training COIL. Students not only joined academic activities in these areas but also had chances to connect with UB students and enjoy sightseeing around Buffalo.
On August 20, the group attended the opening ceremony of “Health on Wheels,” a new mobile medical unit launched by UB. Our students had the valuable opportunity to converse with UB’s President Satish Tripathi, the Dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and state legislators, further deepening the ties between the two universities.
