On August 23, students from Kanazawa University’s extracurricular volunteer group, the Volunteer Support Station (commonly known as “Bora-Sapo”), along with their advisor, Lecturer Kaisei Harada from the Faculty of Economics and Management, Institute of Human and Social Sciences, participated in the Jūzō Shrine Grand Festival—one of the events held during Wajima City’s Great Festival. They assisted with festival operations and carried the mikoshi through the streets. This year, 18 kiriko floats paraded through the city, and fireworks lit up the night sky, making for a lively and festive atmosphere. In addition to carrying the mikoshi, the students worked alongside participants from Waseda University and Toyo University to help with preparations and cleanup.
On August 24, students from Bora-Sapo and Lecturer Harada joined the Omiya Festival hosted by Sumiyoshi Shrine, and together with local residents, they made the festival a lively event.
