On July 22 and August 7, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative held a study session and kickoff meeting for the “Rice Flour Product Development Project,” a collaborative initiative with the Hokuriku Regional Agricultural Administration Office and Seven-Eleven Japan, as part of Project: AERU. A total of 18 Kanazawa University students participated across both days.
This collaborative initiative, supported by the Hokuriku Regional Agricultural Administration Office and Seven-Eleven Japan, aims to foster entrepreneurship by engaging students in product planning and promotional activities centered around the theme of “developing products using rice flour.”
During the study session, representatives from the Hokuriku Regional Agricultural Administration Office provided insights into agricultural policy and the current state of rice flour production. Students sampled rice flour-based bread and sweets while actively discussing ideas for new products. At the kickoff meeting, Seven-Eleven Japan shared real-world marketing examples and offered guidance on product development and sales strategies.
Moving forward, the participating students will take on the challenge of developing products for release after February 2026, advancing their ideas and promotional efforts in earnest.
