On July 29, J-PEAKS held 2025 J-PEAKS On-Campus Information Session at MIRAICHI Research Center on the Kakuma Campus. Approximately 100 faculty, staff and students participated in the hybrid face-to-face and online session.
First, Trustee Shinichi Nakamura, Executive Director of J-PEAKS Promotion Division, gave opening remarks, followed by Vice President Seigoh Kinutani, Vice Director of J-PEAKS Promotion Division, who explained the past efforts, progress, and future support and initiatives for strengthening research capabilities, such as new support for young researchers and international public relations for research. After that, Professor Hiroshi Hasegawa, Director of MIRAICHI Research Center, introduced the facilities of the Center, which started operation in July this year, and finally Vice President Kunio Matsumoto, Vice Director of J-PEAKS Promotion Division, made closing remarks. This time, MIRAICHI Research Center was fully opened to the public, and many people toured the building.
Participants shared feedback such as: "I am very interested in interdisciplinary discussions and collaborative research," "I gained a clear understanding of the goals and future direction of Kanazawa University J-PEAKS initiative," and "It was evident that innovative developments are taking place at the MIRAICHI Research Center."
Following the information session, Kanazawa University will continue to strengthen support through the J-PEAKS program to enhance research capabilities and promote social implementation. With a university-wide commitment, we aim to realize our 10-year vision of becoming a global hub that continuously generates disruptive innovation. To achieve this, we will take action to advance fundamental and interdisciplinary research and accelerate the implementation of research outcomes in society.
