On June 7, 2025 Noto Satoyama Satoumi SDGs Meister Program entrance ceremony was held at Kanazawa University Noto Gakusya.
Based in Noto Gakusha and with the cooperation of Suzu City and other local governments in the prefecture, this program aims to develop leaders who will work to solve local problems by taking advantage of Noto's Satoyama Satoumi resources, which are recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage site. To date, the program has produced 262 graduates (Meisters). This year, the program is scheduled to run for approximately 10 months, with a record number of 42 participants.
At the ceremony, President Takashi Wada gave the ceremonial address, followed by an address by Masuhiro Izumiya, Mayor of Suzu City, on behalf of the partner municipalities. Then, on behalf of the guests of honor, Kensui Onda, President of the NPO Noto Satoyama Satoumi Meister Network, who is also a graduate of the program, gave a congratulatory address. Rika Mizukami, representing the participants, pledged to "gather small courage and big love for Oku-noto and create a sparkling chemical reaction," and renewed her determination for the creative reconstruction of Noto.
After the ceremony, participants made brief self-introductions and deepened exchanges through discussions with President Wada, Mayor Izumiya, and other related people.
