Kanazawa University is engaged in disaster relief volunteer activities in collaboration with local companies and universities of Ishikawa Prefecture

Kanazawa University in cooperation with various organizations continues to provide support activities for people affected in disaster-stricken areas. Among them, the extracurricular activity group - Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station leaded by Kaisei Harada, a lecturer from Institute of Human and Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Management, is actively collaborating with other universities and companies to expand the support.

On November​ ​23, students and staff of Kinjo University's VORABO volunteer circle, members of disaster prevention and mitigation project SoRA of Kanazawa Institute of Technology ​ ​ and general volunteers worked together to remove soil and sand from private homes damaged by the Okunoto rainstorm in Chyouda-machi of Wajima City in 2024.

On November​ ​24, employees of Kanazawa Energy Co., Ltd., students from Komatsu University, and alumni of Kanazawa University, worked together and shoveled out mud that had accumulated in a street gutter in Kawai-machi of Wajima City.

On December​ ​1, employees of Kanazawa Energy Corporation, members of SoRA of Kanazawa Institute of Technology, and members of RINRI PROJECT, cleaned gutters in front of private homes in Yamagishi-machi, Kawai-machi, and Cyuda-machi of Wajima City, removed damaged household goods, carried them to a waste dump, and removed soil and sand from a disaster site.

In the future, Kanazawa University will continue to support the affected areas and people in cooperation with various organizations.
