Event Details
The Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative, Kanazawa University and the school of Advanced Science and Technology, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) will jointly hold a seminar.
Naonori Ueda from the RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project, a leading researcher at the forefront of AI research, will deliver a lecture titled "Simulation-Based Machine Learning – A New Trend in AI Research: AI for Science". The lecture will be available via online streaming.
Deep learning, which plays a key role in image recognition and generative AI used in smartphones and social media, is highly versatile. However, it faces several challenges, such as reduced performance on data outside the training set and difficulty in explaining its outputs. This lecture will introduce simulation-based machine learning as a solution to these issues, along with the latest research examples and findings.
The seminar will be held at the "MIRAICHI Research Center", which was completed in March 2025 and started full-scale operation in July. There are no restrictions regarding your academic field or year of study. If you are interested, please feel free to come to the venue.
