On November 25, Mr. Arieh Rosen, Culture and Science Affairs Attaché to the Embassy of Israel paid a courtesy visit to President Yamazaki Koetsu. Mr. Rosen made a great effort to coordinate the visits to universities and institutes during President Yamazaki and his delegates’ business trip to Israel in September 2019. Thanks to Mr. Rosen’s precise coordination, that visit led Kanazawa University to conclude the University-Level Agreement for Cooperation and Exchange with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in May 2020, and with the Tel Aviv University in October 2021. In response to that, he kindly made time to discuss further collaboration with the above two universities and the possibility of new projects during and after the Corona era. Following the courtesy visit, another meeting was held in which there was a lively exchange of opinions about online student exchange between K.U.’s Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Department of Asian Studies, plans for Summer School, development for new partner universities, and information on local entrepreneurship. On this occasion, Mr. Rosen took an opportunity to visit the Nano Life Science Institute and he was deeply impressed by the cutting-edge research.

The year 2022 marks the 70th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the State of Israel and Japan. Further expansion and deepening of exchanges in the fields of culture, science and technology are also expected.
