Establishment of the Kanazawa University Ghent Office to promote the exchange in Europe

On May 19, Vice President Hiroshi Yamamoto (in charge of International Affairs, Hospital and Alumni Association) , Prof. Megumi Shimura of the Institute of Human and Social Science of Faculty of Letters and other delegates visited Belgium. In this visit, they concluded the addendum to expand the exchange of students with Ghent University, the partner institution which concluded the university-level agreement with Kanazawa University in July 2009 and established the Kanazawa University Ghent Office. There is much anticipation of the further promotion of exchanges and collaborations.

Afterward, the delegates paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Daniël Termont, Mayor of Ghent (※Kanazawa and Ghent are sister cities) and delivered the letter from President Yamazaki and Mr. Yukiyoshi Yamano, Mayor of Kanazawa and reported that both universities will deepen their relationship further.

On May 21, the delegates attended the conference, where companies and laboratories in the life science located in Flanders region were gathered, and discussed the possibilities of internship programs .
