The College of Human and Social Sciences covers a new academic domain that explores the “humanities” and “social sciences” which developed the Faculties of Letters, Education, Law and Economics.
The six schools of Humanities, Law, Economics, Teacher Education, Regional Development Studies and International Studies build on existing academic research while stressing the links between related academic areas in order to come to grips with the upheavals confronting humanity and society in the 21st century.
The College of Human and Social Sciences offers programs that loosely embrace existing academic fields and offer the opportunity for the intensive study of tools that may solve the various problems confronting humanity and society.
Students proactively design their own “study” and can forge the intellectual prowess and ability to take the necessary actions when solving problems. Come and enjoy unfettered study in these six new schools.

College of Science and Engineering

The College of Science and Engineering integrates the fields of science and engineering, disciplines that are becoming ever more profound and interrelated. Students are no longer limited by the traditional academic boundaries between the Faculty of Science, which dealt with basic science, and the Faculty of Engineering, which dealt with its application, and they can select their course from an extensive array of natural science and technology options.
When you enter the College of Science and Engineering, after mastering the rudiments of science and engineering, you can select specialized courses offered by the college’s six departments, and thus are able to design the path through university that is the most suited to you as an individual. The reorganization of faculties and departments into the College enables us to offer the best possible education for students who will go on to play an active role in society. We also offer sub-majors, which make it possible to gain an understanding of other fields outside your specialization.
Set your sights on becoming a specialist in science and technology at the College of Science and Engineering. Graduate studies are available in each field for those who wish to continue with further academic research after graduation. For those who intend to go into employment, it is possible to acquire a teaching certificate (for junior high school and high school), an Associate Professional Engineer certificate (JABEE accreditation) or the qualifications required for such jobs as safety supervisor; you can master the knowledge and skills necessary for the real world and can freely chart your own way through a wide-ranging field of study.

College of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences

image

The College of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences consists of four schools: the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the School of Health Sciences. The School of Health Sciences is subdivided into five specialty departments: the Nursing Department, the Radiological Technology Department, the Examination Technology Department, the Physical Therapy Department, and the Occupational Therapy Department.
The objective of this college is to train students to become capable medical staff and to contribute to the progress of patient-oriented holistic medicine. We do this with a high regard for patients’ quality of life, and through mutual collaboration between the different fields of medical education that have conventionally operated separately.
The curriculums are intended to raise students’ awareness of their responsibilities as medical personnel through the study of the college’s common subjects as well as through the early exposure program that provides students with opportunities to experience actual medical settings. In addition, students are trained to become medical/pharmaceutical/health professionals with a high degree of expertise, up-to-date knowledge and skills, as well as strong humanitarian qualities and high ethical standards through the specialized courses of each school.
At this college we conduct unique and innovative basic and clinical research into the prevention and treatment of diseases, as well as into health promotion. Another mission of the college is the training of researchers who will be leaders in the field of advanced medicine in the 21st Century. We seek to achieve this aim through graduate and postgraduate research.
